Are you looking for a Maths tutor?

I am a female Maths graduate with a Diploma in Statistics, and I first started tutoring in 1998. Having children myself, I appreciate from a parent’s point of view how important it is for pupils to achieve the best grades that they can in Maths. Not everyone finds Maths easy, so it isn’t always a popular subject, but it is extremely useful. Maths is necessary for a wide range of careers, and many other careers have at least some element of Maths.

What levels do I teach?

I teach Key Stage 2 through to A Level, mainly. This includes preparation for Key Stage 2 SATS, Common Entrance at 11+ and 13+, independent school entrance exams, ISEB pre-testing at 11+, Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, AS Level, A Level and International Baccalaureate HL and SL Maths. I also teach Maths to undergraduates who are not mathematicians, for example those who need help with the Maths modules of Business Studies degrees.

Why choose one-to-one tuition?

Maths is a subject where it is easy to lose confidence. One to one maths tuition is an ideal environment for regaining confidence because you can ask as many questions as you like without having to worry about what anyone else thinks.  One to one tuition can be tailored to suit specific learning styles, and progress at a pace to suit you.  There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach.

When?

You can book sessions during the daytime, after school, evenings up until 9pm, and weekends. I do have some time off for holidays, but I am certainly not restricted to working during school term times only! Some people like to book lessons during term time only, others like to have the additional help during the school holidays, when there is less pressure on time.

Resources

I have a good range of up-to-date textbooks, a wide variety of work sheets and practice papers, plus past papers from all the major exam boards. I currently offer online tuition only, using a virtual classroom for both individual and group tuition. No-one has to travel anywhere, so it’s better for the environment, and efficient use of everyone’s time.
